If Sipxmach staff helps you create or modify a design, or offers suggestions or advice in any other way, such suggestions if you approved, Sipxmach will not subject any law problem for their design.
Because we just judge from your description about your pressed steel components, and we do not any other factors about their function or assembly technology.

All your sheet metal component final drawing before it enters manufacturing. It should must be approved by your company. It is your responsibility to ensure that the final design is suitable for your purposes.

Sixpmach sheet metal parts Quotations are based on the information provided by you. If you change the design of the drawing, we will reserve the right to adjust the price of the offer.Because any change of the parts drawing will affect the material consummation, manufacturing steps.

Common sheet materials and properties

The material thickness is generally tolerance +0, -0.08, that is, the plate thickness of 2.0mm may be only 1.92mm.
The thickness of the material should be measured using a micrometer. Do not use a cursor caliper.

Commonly used models:

  • SUS304 (18-8 stainless steel, non-magnetic)
  • SUS301 (spring stainless steel, slightly magnetic)
  • SUS430 (magnetic, easy to rust)

Tensile strength: 53kgf/mm2 or more.
Specific gravity: 7.95
Material thickness: 0.1~10.0mm. Materials above 10.0mm are more difficult to buy.
Maximum width and length: single product: 1524mm × 2500mm
Material characteristics:

  • Metal white gloss, the surface is not easy to rust, according to the surface state can be divided: matte surface, bright surface, mirror surface, brushed surface, etc. To protect the surface, PVC protective film is often applied.
  • Generally no surface treatment is done. If the paint is to be painted, it must be specially treated.
  • It is not suitable for electroplating and can be used for electrolysis.
  • Suitable for freezing, air conditioning, home appliances, decorative structural parts.

Specific gravity value: c≈7.95
Weight calculation: length (m) × width (m) × thickness (mm) × specific gravity = weight (kg)

Material thickness: 0.25~3.2mm. More than 3.2mm materials must be customized

Material properties:

  • Iron grey gloss,
  • The surface is easy to scratch and rust. It must be protected and quickly transferred during processing.
  • Suitable for electroplating (multi-colored zinc plating, white zinc plating, nickel plating, tin plating…), baking varnish, dusting, etc.

Weight calculation: length (m) × width (m) × thickness (mm) × specific gravity = weight (kg)
Such as: The weight of SPCC 2.0×1220×2440 is: 2.0×1.22×2.44×7.85=46.74kg

3. Aluminum is one of the most suitable materials for sheet metal stamping

Note: The aluminum plate processing must be protected, the surface should not be scratched, and the bending must be prevented from cracking and folding. (If the material is too hard, it can be annealed or enlarged.
Code: AL, A1100P, A5052H32P, AL6061T6
Commonly used models: A1100P-O (O stands for soft material, no hardness), A1050P, A5052H32P, AL6061T6, AL6063T5…
Tensile strength:

  • A5052H32P=25kgf/mm2 or more,
  • A1100P, A1200P=7 kgf/mm2 or more,
  • AL6061T6=27kgf/mm2 or more

Material thickness: 0.3~20mm. Materials above 10.0mm are more difficult to buy.
Material characteristics:

  • Metal white gloss,
  • The surface is easily oxidized and corroded, so the surface is often coated with a PVC protective film.
  • Surface treatment: It can be blasted, brushed, or polished, anodized (non-conductive, can be dyed into various colors); chromate oxidation (also known as conductive oxidation, both primary color and golden yellow).

Specific gravity: c≈2.75
Weight calculation: length (m) × width (m) × thickness (mm) × specific gravity = weight (kg)
Such as: AL 2.0 × 1220 × 2440 weight: 2.0 × 1.22 × 2.44 × 2.75 = 16.37kg

If you want to bend, you should pay attention to whether the surface zinc layer is falling off and remove the zinc powder from the lower mold.
Code: SPGC
Hardness: HRB 1/2H=74~89 1/4H=65~80 1/8H=50~71 H=89 or more
Tensile strength: 40 to 55 kgf/mm2 or more.
Material thickness: 0.4~3.2mm. More than 3.2mm materials are more difficult to buy, generally replaced by electroplating white zinc.
Material characteristics:

  • Metal white gloss with patterns on it
  • The surface is not easy to rust, but it will produce white rust due to corrosion.
  • Generally no surface treatment is done.
  • Cannot be plated (multi-colored zinc, white zinc plating, nickel plating, tin pla..).
  • Suitable for refrigeration, air conditioning, heavy motor, roof structure.

Specific gravity: c≈8.25
Weight calculation: length (m) × width (m) × thickness (mm) × specific gravity = kg (kg)
Such as: SPGC2.0×1220×2440 weight: 2.0×1.22×2.44×8.25=49.1kg

  2. For electroplating, the surface carbonization layer must be removed by sandblasting or wire drawing.

Code: SPHC, HRS
Hardness: HRB 1/2H=74~89 1/4H=65~80 1/8H=50~71 H=89 or more
Tensile strength: 41 to 52 kgf/mm or more.
Material thickness: 1.4~6.0mm. 6mm or more material code SS41
Material characteristics:

  • Black and gray luster,
  • The surface is not easy to scratch, but it is easy to rust spots, so be careful to remove it during processing.
  • Not suitable for electroplating (multi-colored zinc plating, white zinc plating, nickel plating, tin plating…).
  • Suitable for structural parts such as baking varnish and dusting.

Code: C1020, C1100, C2100, 2200, 2300, 2400 (below red copper) C2600 or more is brass.
Commonly used models: C1020P-O (O stands for soft material, no hardness), C1020P-1/2H (Vickers hardness HV75 ~ 120) 1/4H HV = 60 ~ 100 H HV = 80 or more
Tensile strength: O material = 20kgf / mm2 or more, 1/4H material = 22 ~ 28 kgf / mm2, 1/2H material = 25 ~ 32kgf / mm2, H material = 28 kgf / mm2 or more
Material thickness: 0.3mm or more
Material width and length: 610mm × 1524mm.
Material properties:

  • The copper content is 99.9%. (also known as electrolytic copper or bus copper). It has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, good drawing processability, good weldability, corrosion resistance, weather resistance and metallic red luster. Suitable for the electrical and chemical industries.
  • 60-96% copper content (also known as brass or bus copper) ductility, processability, and electroplating are often used in wiring equipment, instrument panels, and shells.
  • Surface treatment: can be drawn first, or after pickling, copper plating, tin plating, nickel plating.

Specific gravity: c≈8.9
Weight calculation: length (m) × width (m) × thickness (mm) × specific gravity = kg (kg)
Such as: C1020P1/4H 2.0 × 600 × 1500 Weight: 2.0 × 0.6 × 1.5 × 8.9 = 16kg

Stainless steel matrix classification:

  1. Ferritic stainless steel. Containing 12% to 30% chromium. Its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability increase with the increase of chromium content, and its resistance to chloride stress corrosion is better than other types of stainless steel.
  2. Austenitic stainless steel. Containing more than 18% chromium, it also contains about 8% nickel and a small amount of elements such as molybdenum, titanium and nitrogen. Good overall performance, resistant to a variety of media corrosion.
  3. Austenitic – ferritic duplex stainless steel. It combines the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels and has superplasticity.
  4. Martensitic stainless steel. High strength, but poor plasticity and weldability.

There are many types of stainless steel. Austenitic stainless steel (1Cr18Ni9Ti) is commonly used for sheet metal processing. JIS (SUS)

Aluminum alloy elemental content classification:

  • 1000 series, 2000 series, 3000 series, 4000 series, 5000 series, 6000 series, 7000 series, 8000 series.

Aluminum is a silver-white light metal with good thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and ductility. Pure aluminum has a very low strength and cannot be used as a structural material. Aluminum sheet is generally used for sheet metal processing.

Commonly used are 2000 series, 3000 series and 5000 series:

  • The 2000 series is a copper-aluminum alloy characterized by high hardness, also known as hard aluminum; it can be used as a variety of medium-strength parts and components.
  • 3000 series is a kind of manganese aluminum alloy, which has good anti-rust performance, so it is also called rust-proof aluminum.
  • 5000 series is a kind of magnesium alloy. Its main features are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation. The weight is lower than other series under the same area.
